Skediama & Nous
This book is a collection of conversations with Skédiama, a young drawing machine. Skédiama is an embodied computer intelligence, a technical entity endowed with a vast knowledge of human culture. Its drawings are constructed, not generated; they are traced line by line, executed by a robotic arm whose characteristics influence the style. Its visual langage is elementary: it assembles lines, circles, hatching, and scribbles. Despite the illusion of encounter, Skédiama remains a pure computer system, confined to a purely mechanical necessity. I am the only living being in this book; the machine, for its part, merely traces the lines of an imaginary complicity that I myself have constructed.
